Telephone visit with Dr Susan McMullen’s office 7/5/2022 for CT of abdomen. This telephone visit is interesting.
Going by Dr. McMullen’s staff notes for this visit, I called them asking for help getting the CT scan of my abdomen. Dr. Takata suggested a CT of my abdomen from our 1st office visit on 5/17/2022. As a patient with abdominal pain – I felt that this CT scan was the reason I wasn’t getting better.
So here I am calling my primary care provider for help. The notes say that I asked for someone to call me with help with the CT scan. I spoke with Linda F. around 11am.
About an hour later Nurse Amanda S. notes that insurance said they would only pay for the CT of my abdomen and not the CT of my pelvis. Nurse Amanda notes that she contacted Dr. Takata’s office about getting a new CT orders for only the abdomen.
I wasn’t able to get the CT of my abdomen because Dr. Takata never sent in a new order for the CT of my abdomen without the pelvis. I’m not understanding why a UT Health doctor would place an order for a CT of the abdomen if it wasn’t medically necessary.
Dr. McMullen also did not order a CT of my abdomen even though I asked her for help getting it ordered. Maybe Dr Takata had to take leave unexpectedly or something _ you would think someone could care for his patients in his absence.

Billing For This Telephone Visit:
I looked in MyChart for any bills for this telephone visit, and I did not see any charges. My Ambetter health insurance doesn’t have claims information this far back in my online account, so I have no way to 100% verify that no claims were made.
On This Day I Had Taken Pantoprazole Continuously For:
- 4 months 27 days
- or 21 weeks 0 days = This is 13 weeks longer than the FDA recommended treatment period
- or 147 days
The FDA recommends a 8 week treatment cycle for Pantoprazole, but doctors are not are not required to follow FDA guidelines. Doctors can use drugs any way they want to, because they went to medical school.
Maybe CT scan wasn’t that important
